Ellia from greenbeanbaby's inspirations

I was trying to get a cute illustration to be at the first page of a "book" I'm making with memories of things that happen between me and my boyfriend, you know... the first kiss, a night in the movies, half-anniversary and stuff like that... and I thought of Ellia's illustration... I first thought of buying one but then I thought it wouldn't be the best thing for that book, as there everything is made by me, so I went on an adventure to attempt having something similar to hers.

The "Loves me" inspired one didn't turn out as I expected and so I tried the other one, which is the one used in the book. The "Loves me" inspired one is lying here as I have nothing to do with it...

I just trully hope that Ellia doesn't get offended with my attempts...

This one is inspired by the Lil one. On this one I did made some changes to get what I wanted. I don't really like the strings on the heart-shapped balloons, but now there's nothing I can do as this one was glued together on the first page of the book...

This one was inspired by the "Loves me" illustration by Greenbeanbaby. I used sunglasses on mine as this was supposed to be looking like me as possible... (well, it doesn't).
The original Greenbeanbaby illustration can be found here and I assure you it's much nicer and well achieved as mine... but I tried this one just for fun and it was my first attempt.

POSTCARDS

So today I'll be showing the latest postcards I've created. I do hope you all enjoy.

This was my first attempt. Recycled paper on a cardboard as the base. I then cutted this fellow from a postcard and also the frame to "Parabns" (Happy Birthday in portuguese). I decided to give this little fellow a cap, which is an ivy dried leaf that I also used on the back. Sadly I kept this postcard on a hidden place and now I can't find it anymore... and it was meant to a friend... :s Ups!!

It says "Happy Birthday" in portuguese. It's really simple, handmade paper as the base and then dried rose petals glued together and a tiny scrap of handmade paper where I wrote "Parabns".

On the other side I glued some aged paper (or was the reclyced paper?!) and a dried rose petal.

This one is blue paper on a cardboard as a base and then the red thing is a free sketch I did while I was studying a few time ago... I was totally distracted doing that and at the end I found it cute and decided to keep it. Then you can read "Parabéns" (Happy birthday in portuguese) cut in a junk mail silver cardboard.

And now here's the reason I created this blog... My very first goodies' package I got. This one was from Mary Ann from Follow Your Bliss blog. I was so excited!! And don't you all think it's just a lovely set I have there?! Oh well, it is... I've read all the books (ok, just parts, as it arrived yesterday) and they all are lovely!! I'm so thankfull Mary Ann!! :) Oh... and I just love the fact that she wrote my country before my zip-code and wrote an "oops" and draw an arrow!! LOL! So cute!!

Here's my lucky paper, that you can see over at the wysiwyg post at Mary Ann's blog.

And here's the self-portrait I got in my enveloppe!! You can also find it in Mary Ann's blog.

Well, first of all I guess I should introduce myself... And this was the very beginning of my adventure in the world of handmaking stuff filled with love.... This was where it all started for me. A few months ago, embroiding a traditional thing for my boyfriend. I won't post the final outcome 'cause I think it's something too private, but I can assure it was awesome. Hmmm... thinking way back in time, my adventure began when I was a child and my grandma and my mom decided to teach me how to needle... And I loved it, it's just that now I don't have the time nor the patiente to finish a big project. Ok, enough now... I hope you all enjoy my tiny stuff!!
